CalmQuest Counseling — Guiding You in Your Quest for Calm
You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people seek support when feeling overwhelmed, stuck, emotionally drained, or navigating change. If something in your life feels heavy, confusing, or hard to manage alone, therapy may be a helpful place to start.
The first session is a chance to get to know each other and to ensure that therapy feels like a good fit for you. We’ll talk about what brings you in, your goals, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. You’re welcome to ask questions and share at your own pace—there’s no pressure to cover everything right away. The goal is to create a comfortable, supportive foundation for moving forward together.
Yes. Therapy is confidential and protected by privacy laws. There are a few legal and safety-related exceptions, which will be reviewed clearly during the intake process so you know exactly what to expect.
CalmQuest Counseling primarily provides therapy for adolescents ages 15 and older and adults in Nebraska and Iowa. Therapy with teens is developmentally appropriate and supportive, with a focus on building emotional awareness, coping skills, and confidence while respecting trust, privacy, and collaboration.
If you are a parent or caregiver seeking therapy services for a younger child, you are welcome to reach out to discuss whether CalmQuest Counseling may be a good fit. If another provider or level of care is more appropriate, referrals to other trusted mental health providers may be offered whenever possible.
Both. Sessions may be offered in-person or via secure telehealth, depending on availability and client preference. Telehealth can be a convenient and effective option for many clients.
Sessions may range from 30 minutes to one hour, with most sessions lasting around 50 minutes. How often sessions occur is individualized and may be weekly, bi-weekly, or adjusted based on goals, needs, and progress.
CalmQuest accepts select insurance plans and also offers self-pay options.
That’s completely okay. Many clients start therapy unsure of where to begin. Your therapist will help guide conversations and support you in exploring what feels most important.
Getting started is simple. You can reach out through the contact form on the website, call to inquire about availability, or connect through my Psychology Today profile. Once contact is made, you’ll receive guidance on next steps, scheduling, and whether CalmQuest feels like a good fit for your needs.
