Confidentiality

Limits to Confidentiality

Confidentiality may be broken when:

  • There is risk of serious harm to yourself or others
  • There is suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or vulnerable adult

  • Disclosure is otherwise required by law

These limits are reviewed during the intake process to ensure clarity and understanding.

Secure Communication Notice

Your privacy and safety are important. While phone calls and text messages are convenient, they are not secure forms of communication.

Clients are cautioned in sending sensitive, confidential, or clinical information through these methods. These forms of communication should be used for scheduling or general questions.

Secure platforms will be used when clinical communication is required.

Fees, Insurance & Financial Responsibility

CalmQuest Counseling strives to be transparent about fees and payment expectations.


Payment Options

Services may be provided through accepted insurance or self-pay, depending on availability and eligibility. Fees and accepted insurance will be provided upon inquiry.


Good Faith Estimates

Clients paying out-of-pocket are entitled to receive a Good Faith Estimate outlining expected costs, in accordance with federal law.


Payment Responsibility

Clients are responsible for understanding their insurance benefits and any applicable copays, deductibles, or balances.


Cancellations

Policies regarding cancellations, late cancellations, and no-shows are provided prior to or upon  the start of services.

Telehealth Policy

Telehealth services may be offered through secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms.


Requirements

Clients must:

  • Be physically located in the state where services are legally provided
  • Have access to a private, quiet space
  • Use secure internet and compatible technology
     

Considerations

While telehealth is effective for many, it may not be appropriate for all situations. In some cases, in-person services or higher levels of care may be recommended.
